Claims must be filed within 7 days of delivery via your Shipment ID and photographic evidence.

Payment Terms & Cancellation
Quotations are valid for 7 days from the date of issue. Payment is accepted via NEFT, RTGS, cheque, credit/debit card, or UPI. A booking is confirmed only after full advance payment is received or an agreed EMI schedule is initiated. GST (as per current Indian rate) is applied and itemized in every invoice. Our IBA-approved rates comply with GST Council guidelines across all states.
Cancellation requests must be made in writing. If cancellation occurs more than 7 days before the scheduled pickup date, a full refund minus ₹2,000 administrative charge is issued. Cancellations within 7 days of scheduled pickup will forfeit 50% of the quoted amount. Cancellations after pickup has begun are non-refundable.
Force Majeure & Delays
DTDC Packers and Movers will not be liable for delays caused by natural disasters (flood, cyclone, earthquake), strikes, lockdowns, road closures declared by government authorities, or unforeseen accidents. If a delay exceeds 5 business days beyond the promised delivery window, the customer may claim ₹500 per day of delay (capped at 10% of total freight charges) without further compensation. Live ETA updates during such events are communicated via SMS and WhatsApp using real-time GPS data.
Customer Responsibility & Documentation
Customers must provide accurate pickup and delivery addresses with correct pincodes (e.g., 110003 for Delhi, 560001 for Bengaluru). Undeclared or prohibited items (explosives, firearms, hazardous chemicals, perishables) cannot be transported. If such items are discovered, the shipment will be offloaded and returned at the customer's cost. All valuable items (jewelry, electronics, documents) must be declared in writing and may require enhanced insurance at an additional cost.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the delivery address is accessible and that a responsible person is present or reachable at the time of delivery. If access is denied or delayed due to customer unavailability, re-delivery charges of ₹1,500 per visit will apply. Goods held in our custody beyond 30 days post-delivery will incur storage charges of ₹200 per day.
Dispute Resolution & Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be governed by Indian law and fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in New Delhi. Before escalating to court, both parties agree to mediation through DTDC Packers and Movers's in-house dispute resolution team (contact: +91 9911071177). Mediation will be completed within 30 days. If unresolved, either party may approach the relevant Consumer Protection Authority or civil court under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

FAQs
What is DTDC Packers and Movers' IBA certification and what does it guarantee?
DTDC Packers and Movers holds IBA Code MUO-2547, issued by the Indian Building and Allied Workers Federation. This certification confirms we meet national standards for crew training, safety protocols, and transparent billing. IBA-approved movers must display pricing breakdowns, carry background-verified staff, and maintain documented complaint resolution within 14 days—non-negotiable standards.
What are the liability limits if my goods are damaged during transit?
Standard liability is ₹500 per kilogram of declared goods value, or actual loss—whichever is lower. For high-value shipments (electronics, artwork, vehicles), optional comprehensive transit insurance covers up to ₹25,00,000 with a 7-day claim settlement window. Proof of damage (photographs, video evidence, official damage report) must be filed within 48 hours of delivery for valid claims.
Is GST included in the quote, or will it be added at billing?
GST (18% on labour + packing materials under HSN codes 4911/4904) is calculated and itemized separately in your final invoice. Our quote breakdown shows labour charges, material costs, and GST in transparent line-items—no hidden fees. Toll charges, parking, and local levies (where applicable) are mentioned upfront and added only if they apply to your specific route.
How are complaints and disputes resolved under consumer law?
All complaints must be filed in writing (email or WhatsApp) within 14 days of service completion. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim resolution within 14 days. If unresolved, you may escalate to your state's District Consumer Redressal Commission (free, no filing fee) or file a case under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Arbitration costs are borne by DTDC Packers and Movers if we are found at fault.
What packing and handling standards does DTDC Packers follow?
All crews are trained in standardized packing protocols: use of corrugated boxes (minimum 5-ply for electronics), bubble wrap, kraft paper, and wooden crates for furniture. Background-verified staff follow safety checklists for fragile, high-value, and hazardous items. Every packed item is tagged with your Shipment ID for real-time tracking from warehouse to final delivery across our 100+ city network.
Are there any items that cannot be moved or are excluded from coverage?
DTDC Packers cannot transport explosives, hazardous chemicals, or restricted goods per Indian law (PoCI, FEMA). Cash, jewellery, and original documents must be carried personally. Liquid items require special handling fees (₹2,000–₹5,000 extra). High-value electronics, artwork, and antiques are eligible for enhanced insurance (declare value upfront). Pre-move inspection of restricted items is mandatory; breach voids the insurance claim.
